Eniti Warehouse

Back in the chilly month of March we left Hereford to pick up our first consignment of tea from Eniti at Bury St Edmunds. Although in the trade for a number of years I had never been at the ‘sharp end’ and seen where so much hard work is carried out with such great humour and a smile!

Peter Holloway and his great team put up with my mum (co-driver!), myself and a smallish white van from Enterprise rental; as you will see from the picture, tea comes into the ports in huge containers on pallets and it is usually transferred in large lorries around the country but not this time! It was a fun trip back to Hereford!

Eniti was formed in 1992 and is now the largest independent tea warehouse in the country and currently holds between 12 and 14,000 tonnes of tea! The team copes with custom clearance at the port of arrival (a job in its own right!) and then transfers the tea to the warehouse where every tea is weighed and sampled. In addition to all of this, they have the facilities to flavour teas such as Earl Grey using either oils or granules – a fantastic all round service!

It was a pleasure to meet Peter and his team and I can only hope that we will need to find our way back there soon to pick up our next consignment of tea – I promise that next time we will take a larger van!
